from follows function.

simple and effective

any attempt to follow a different angle is going to put stress on something.

it fits in with the rest of the fab work.

all exhaust brackets are some sort of compromise in looks or function.

i would rather sacrifice a lil on the looks than the function.

that duck sport classic front fender mounts match your exhaust mount very nicely.

i think with a side shot we could see how the two(front fender mount, rear exhaust hanger)tie together a little better.

you gotta live with it tho,and if it is poking you in the eye  .

i can't wait to see what you do.

keep us posted,

Perhaps using instead of the hanger a stainless or chrome around-the-pipe C-clamp with a minimalist bracket to the handiest existing fastener that moves with the frame (i.e., not a fastener that moves with the swing-arm , duh  ).

The C-clamp could be located further forward from the location portrayed in the pic.

Good Fortune! :)

In that picture it looks like the closest fastener is the shock link, then the brake master clevis bolt. :silly:

Will you be adding passenger pegs? If so perhaps the exhaust hanger can work with those. That seat really works well with your overall design btw.

Thanks for all the feed back ,I'll give it a few days to see if it grows on me . right now the weather sucks I'll take some pics when it clears then ask for more feed back.

Also 531blackbanshee was spot on with the location as far as function , for ground clearance the exhaust is pulled up on the hanger pretty hard so I located the hanger directly above the mount to reduce stress .

bluezbike : decided not to add the passenger pegs due to the location of the rear set

Another thought is once the frame and hanger are painted.....especially a dark color then it might work better. Always good to sleep on any ideas. I am sure your ultimate solution will be as elegant as everything else you have built. :)

This is my favorite project bike at this time. Let the mount go for awhile and I bet it will grow on you. Itis well done and I hope you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor soon.

What color are you going to do the frame? In the last picture above, the frame looks silver. I think if you matched it to the silver in the tank and plastic pieces it would look good! Great build!

I havent even thought of the other paint scheme . i figured black goes with every thing . hi gloss , or satin ? guess i'll figure it out when i get there as this is the way this build as been from the start. I really like the stock paint you have. Is that a factory job or has it been repainted?
