2nd Project? was created by Bazz
I originally bought this bike for $100 bones for the rims, guy said it had not run in 20 years so it was basically a parts bike, I am also building a bobber with my 13 year old son, its a 82 440. ( hence the parts bike)
I or we have never done this before and I thought this would be great for him to have a bike for when he is 16, I'll post that project in another topic.
So When I got the 74 home I started lookin at how cool it just was and started thinkin maybe I could get it running..... so here goes.
in his yard.
Think the chain is done!
Found 2 black widows on the bike already! got to be careful sticking your had in small spots.
Finally got carbs out, see the beer in the corner, i think this will be 1 of many for this project.
This is why I originally picked the bike up. They are not in 2 bad a shape.

Carbs on the other hand.... seized solid,

I got them soakin in deep clean seafoam. (that stuff is awesome)
I hope I didn't bite off more than I can chew!

As you are chewing on that bike, use liberal amounts of beer to wash it down...but I think you already know that Cool bike...I'd be tempted to restore it too, if something like that appeared in my garage.

I think I will try to keep it as close to restore as possible, but I have seen some nice cafe style's
(diablo comes to mind) but it depends on budget, like most things.

When I was in high school I had an old Mustang that kept me and my dad digging around in wrecking yards for parts. One essential item to the tool bag was a can of aerosol wasp spray. You never know what you'll find poking around old vehicles stored outside. Looks like a cool little bike. Keep those pictures coming.
You would like my tail piece that came on my KZ1000. Look what I found when I started sanding through the old paint:
