GPz 550 Cafe project was created by paddlerbob
Picked up an 84 GPz 550 for a couple bills. My intentions were to fix it up so th e wife could learn to ride. It had sat for 6 years with the previous 2 owners never tackling the rebuild, never trying to get it to run. I brought it home, got it to fire up for 10 seconds. That's all I needed, it is now a rolling chassis waiting for some parts to show.

Did a rebuild on the motor. Put it back in the chassis and fired it today. :) I was concerned that I had the cam off by a tooth when I put it back together. Had to spin the motor with the plugs out to pump some oil around, turned over real hard even though I lubed everything. As soon as the oil started around it loosened right up.

Now for cosmetics. I would like to find a slip on that is really short. I would like the exhaust to end just off the header pipe.
