Its the newer motor. It dont have the round cam cover.Pulled the header and sandblasted it and painted it. It wasnt dented up to bad only 3 small dents so it will hang for now. I never liked Kerker headers just dont like the look. When I get it up and running I'll look into something a little more to my taste. I like chrome
I have a nice shiny chrome set of V&H 4into1 that would love to be replaced with a Kerker

Well I got a key made but the switch is no good. At least I can open the seat and lock the steering. The dude at Goan on 518 cut the key and it didnt work on the switch so he told me to try it on the seat and it worked. Called him back and asked him what I owed him and he said dont worry about it. Nice guy but now I need a switch.
Is it that the key won't turn the switch (like it's the wrong key), or that the key turns the switch okay but the switch itself doesn't function?
Here's one option:

The diagram shows detail of internal switch wiring.
Sometimes the connections get corroded and might be successfully cleaned to restore switch function.
Could also try spraying inside the switch with an electrical connection cleaner such as Deoxit (Radio Shack) or similar product.

I have a NOS switch and key.Price a new one and I will sell u this one for 1/2 and send it to u.bj
I called the dealer and Kawasaki no longer makes that ignition. They can only get after market and its only 15 bucks. My plug has 6 wires and a brown wire with a bullet connector and is not the same as alot of KZs or so I'm told

Here's a link to the downloadable color wiring diagram for KZ1000-A4 (likely very similar to the LTD), found in "Filebase" under "KZ Information" in the green ribbon toward top of screen.
