trianglelagunas 550 build /project thread.....

so i've been searching for a fual tank and they are kinda hard to get for an 84-85 zx550,gpz550.....


i found a cycle yard search board and the few responses seemed ok to crazy...85 primer ok tank shipping brought it to 130....445 for a dinged "painter"....

started hoping i'd find one not bidding on auctions and as i can wait...oh well....



then i found this site too and was kinda impressed, 501.00 + tx and shipping is a lot but if was new in the box it is cheap compared to some crazy junk sellers stuff....e-bay guys are dreaming 1800 on some o.e.m tanks...wonder what members hard to find parts are going for here...good cross reference on prices prob....


i have heard a tale that the 84-85 550 and 750 tanks were the same size???
anyone know about this

man i am so excited...the next bike to get running is this little ripper....i want to learn to paint on this bike and then have the booth and supplies and skills ready to do the 900 and maybe some frames ect...

but this bike is ready to go on the bench..little items that were toast are all collected from online now...and the thing is calling to me as the MKII nears a new phase of riding time......

But I could not find a tank...no way...no how.....

Man i want to get this baby going next...

he also called me right away to tell me some other stuff he is selling including a full engine with a performance kit and big bore for a 550
