I would try to remove all of the boogered threads and put some fuel-resistant plumber's tape(if it exists) on the reamining threads. I think there is some kind of epoxy, such as Yama-Bond that coul be used to seal it. I used Yama-Bond in a float bowl on my 650 in 1994 and it still holds today. Just understand that it is a permanent bond, never to come apart again!

Im goin to paint the tank, fender and tail then locttite has a fuel safe bonder im goin to try . Some one said yamabond ive never herd of that ? but I can heat up the loctite and it will allow me to remove it if need be.
When we taped the plate we allowed a few more good threads on the pet to grab so im not to worried ! Now to mount the tank im thinkin cut 2 pieces of pipe cut out 1/4 and bend it to fit then weld it to the tank any one have a better idea???? Ive already fabed the rear tank mount and have a good idea where it needs to ride.

Drilled roters on ebay good idea or bad ?
