Thank You For All The Help! was created by Russ Jackson
So I get out of riding motorcycles for 12 years or so. Some guy that provides installation services for me says he has an old Kawasaki KZ 900 in a shed. He wants $300 for it and it must be gone in a week. I tell my wife and she says you need a project. So I start searching the internet thinking that these old sleds are going to be hard to find information on.

Low and behold I discover a sub-culture of KZ fanatics lurking from around the world willing to help out and guide others in the proper direction.

Since I picked it up frozen carbs and all. Asking many questions to all of you here. Purchasing parts on Ebay and Z1 enterprises. Many hours of cleaning, re-building, trial and error it now runs excellent. I put over 1500 miles on it so far and summer is not even here yet.

At first I am sure I asked some ignorant questions but your patience paid off and another KZ fanatic was created.

Thank You all for your help.

...Russ

maybe it's becuase i own the brother to your bike....or maybe it is becuase you are such a nice guy to have on this site.......but regardless ...i always am interested when i see your name in a thread ...as i know i can look forward to some great insight that is laced with humor and not all puffed up and agressive......
I am sure i am not alone when i state that you are a great addition to the forums......

i too took time out from owning a bike....good thing ..cuase i spent about three bikes worth over the years on the magazines......
time off with a true motorcycle person is just time away from a seat really and your thirst for knowledge and history of experience plays this out.....

I don't think you can lose on one of these bikes. Too many people appreaciate these old bikes. Even in this economy they appear to be going up...Russ

Good to hear of your success. Sorry I was of no help since I'm in the 650 crowd.
