Shelled out 700 bones for a kz650 a little over a week ago. It was a week given by God (first bike I've owned). I didn't sleep. I didn't eat. I rode. It was orders of magnitude better than Hunter Thompson make it out to be...right up until I got plowed over by a pick-up. The nitty gritty is all in the new members area.
I had intentions of a cafe inspired build, but I may have to cut some corners just to get it riding again for the time being.
She's been punched out to a 720, 10.5:1, re-jetted, 624's, aftermarket (read grabby) clutch, mega stiff suspension set up, kerker 4-1, and the most god-aweful purple/yellow paint scheme. Seriously, I die a little inside looking at it.
I started ripping her apart tonight. See if you notice anything odd about these pictures

Does anyone have a spare 650 stator lying around? Or know of a good bike boneyard in the Dallas, Texas area?
I'm super pissed about that tank. Not a spot of rust anywhere inside.
I'm also in the market for a set of clip ons now. I'd prefer to support board vendors. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Opted for the clubman's instead. I think the riding position will be more comfortable for me. Should be here in a few days.
Also have a stator and engine cover on the way from a 79 650e. Guy at the dealership said the part numbers were the same.
I still need to sort something out for the instrument cluster, and headlight bezel. I've seen a few people use a Ural spedo-in-headlight combo that I really like. Anyone tried this on a KZ?
