I purchased a set fo carb rebuild kits, sonic cleaned the carbs, gonna anodize the top covers tomarrow.
Carb rebuild this weekend.
I could not resist this blatant plug for Z1 Enterprises...I have purchased afew things there, the biggest being the brand new Fuel tank, always good stuff, always good service.
Thanks Z1 enterprises!!

Ahhhh yes thank you KZ riders...
I was perplexed, apparently I have the VM26ss carbs. Hmmm. Some time in late 75 Kawasaki switched to the VM26SS. So some of the parts in my 73-75 rebuild kit did not fit. No worries, there were enough of the importamt parts which crossed over to the VM26ss.
Also, surfed the forum to get an aggregate, jet setting. Very helpful. I am now running 113 mains. and 17.5 pilots on needle setting humber 2 (from the top down). The old jets were 105 mains which seem pretty lean to me. I am at 4500 feet of elevation, we need to run lean, but not that lean.
If you are reading this and thinking "hey that looks easy".......oh boy ...a word of wisdom, take notes sketch out the way it all goes together. It looked easy til i got them all taken apart, lots of littel parts to loose.
All back together with black anodized tops....

Here is a great tip I got from Stoppee, who is rebuilding an old Water buffalo (Suzuli GT 750) in Washington state.
For about 85 bucks including the "media" I bought a Brass tumbler from a sporting goods store. Now I dunno if Canadaland allows such horrid items to be sold, you know it is firearm related, but it works great.
In hindsight i would use a media which is not treated with the red stuff. The red stuff seems to leave a film, which washes off. The natual walnut shell media is what Stoppee uses, it leaves no film.
You just drop the nuts and bolts in all rusty, turn it on, and wait. Eventually everything comes out "shiny" and new looking.

No problem - I must have missed that some how - sorry!
I've thought about one of those tumblers too - how does it work on polishing aluminum? Might need finer media? We installed a pretty large one where I used to work right before I left that job. Never really got to see how well it worked. It was to be used for burr removal on shafts for aerospace.
