Mad Max movie, Jim Goose Kwaka replica

Whats up all you Kawasaki fans?! I just picked up my second '79 KZ1000 off eBay this weekend. This one isn't shaft driven so I think it will be a great donor bike for my Goose replica bike. I see some other folks here have done this before so I feel good about doing the same. My bike is a complete basket case and I'm in need of a lot of help. If anyone has any ideas, shortcuts, or tips please drop me a line and help me out. I'll be sure to post pics as the project rolls along. Thanks

Thanks but the picture does it no justice. The tank is painted with thick textured paint that feels like slick rhino liner. The starter doesn't work so I have to kick it. The speedometer plate is cracked in the pod. All in all, though, it runs good. The tires look fairly new and the battery looks nice and new, too. I'm going to go on eBay and find a right side cover for it and maybe a few other pieces it needs. I've read some of the posts about how to clean the engine and I'm wondering what will work on mine. It has these nasty white splotches all over everything. I've got some time before the Goose fairings are ready to paint and install so I'll take my time with this bike and clean it up good. Texas winters aren't so bad that I don't get to work on the bike from time to time.

Thanks KZErider. I just drove back from Rockport which is half an hour north of Corpus Christie on the coast. Six hours across Texas.
