Well i talked to my friends dad who is doing the powder coating. He said he would just charge me for the cost of the powdercoat and not for the labor.....cool..huh? That got me thinking about a gloss black powdered fram and a chrome powdercoated swingarm???????Maby even powdercoaing the mag wheels gold? Also what choices do i have as far as callipers go for the mag wheels? they were off of a 79 ltd 1000. Thanks jim

Oh also, Im 95% sure the 4 into 1 with the yoshi can is staying off after the rebuild. It cobsists of a 4 into 1 vance and hines header a custom bent mid pipe and the yoshi can off of a suzuki katana 600. Is there anyone that would be intrested in it? It's a bolt on and go thing, i even custom bent a strap from the can to the top shock mount so the can is supported.

Not a whole lot to report. Im taking the z1 on what will probally be her last long run of the year. I can wait to get started ripping into her. She is going to look so nice when im done. Im not going to cheap out on anything. I thought about rattle canning the frame, but powder coating is for sure the way to go. My neibhor has a 66 panhead harley chopper he did back in the 70's, and the powder coating still looks new.
Im just stuck on the paint, i dont know if i want to paint her gloss black, or go back to the stock colors???? Ideas. Ronkz650 if you see this i am really leaning towars the stock colors, i know that will make you happy.

I really like stock colors on a bike, but im not sure if i wanna paint it black for sentimental reasons? Im 99.99999 tempted to go stock looking, black frame, chrome powderd swingarm, stock colors, 4 into jardines.

Well, because of a fellow member donthekawguy, i now have a kz 1000 rear disk swingar, rear calliper, rear brake stay, and a front brake caliper. I already prepped the swingarm, i cut the chain gaurd mounts off becuse im not running one, im also running a 130 tire. My friend, whos dad runs a powdercoat shop, sandblasted and powdercoated it for free. I ended up doing it in gloss black because they had a huge batch of things so he snuck my swingarm in, I didnt think to take pics until after my friend left with the swingarm. But will post some when i get it back in a few days.

Well i got my last batch of parts from donthekawguy today, thanks don. He sent me the fron master cylinder, rear master cylinder, a complete axle, spacers, and the chain adjusters. I just scored a set of gpz 900 dual front callipers off ebay that i can hopefully use. Now i just gotta get motivated and mock everything up. Its supposed to be in the 40's here this weekend, i think thats motivation enough....lol Thank god i have the whole winter to get this thing done, no pressure at all.... I feel like paully at occ on american chopper....lol, the only thing different my dad dosent go egatistical......well not usually that is.....lol

Careful that "I got all winter" gremlin will get you. It will seem like a dream and then you wake on April 1st and you are the April Fool with a half finished bike and it's in the 60's outside.
Thats why I have so many bikes. If I only had one I'd be the poster boy for the "I got all winter" gremlin.
