Fast forward to last Monday. Daughter-in-law calls us and said the bike is in a barn at the farm and $150 will get it with a bill of sale. WELL.....now we're playing ball. I go today and get it and it still looks pretty nice. So far changing the points plate got me some good spark. I'm taking a small break before we put the kids to bed, then I'll put on some carbs to see if it starts! Stay tuned!
I know I'm supossed to have pics already, but the new computer has no floppy drive for our older camera. SORRY.

WELL, what do you know! A KZ 650 will absolutly not start if you put two cups of rain water in the Kerker pipe.
It won't start if you put 2 cups of rainwater in the points either. I know...don't ask me how

As far as Melvis and SR's.... He and I both have worked on a fair share of them and Melvis could probably rebuild one blind folded.
I also recently picked up a 78 SR. Wasnt till it was taken off the truck and started that we heard the bad top end noise(valves in #1) but with the new black kerker, new dunlop's front and rear, and a really clean complete bike, I do not feel as bad as the 400 paid for it... I have the top end to fix it anyways.
So Melivs, do I need to come down and take pics for ya?

It looks like you do, and tell Gary I'll give him $100 for the 78 SR.
And Gringo, I would take as many SR projects as you can throw my way. I love them and thier fun to play with!
