Hello. I joined about a month ago when I bought a 79 KZ1000 LTD. I am pleased with how my posts get answers, unlike some other forums I subscribe to where if you aren't a popular regular you can't get a response. My bike was a one owner with 4400 original miles. It had been stored in a basement for 20 years. I am in the process of replacing a lot of rubber parts, dry rotted tires, chain, seat cover, etc. The rear shocks were locked solid. Replacing them with a set 1" shorter along with progressive front springs as I do the fork seals. I am replacing the valve seals so while at it might as well do a little porting for a set of Web street cams and BS34 carbs. My friend is painting the tank and body parts with gloss black and flames. Nota very original idea, but what I wanted. I am really enjoying working on a bike for a change insead of some rusty 30 year old car. Hopefully in a month I'll be cruising and can post some pics of my new project.

Around here if you are a regular you get ignored. Also if the chain was rubber you were right in swapping it out ASAP!
Sorry, couldn't resist.......

GPZROX, I am near Sparta, NC about 3.5 hours from Ashville. I live on the Blueridge parkway near milemarker 222. I am really getting anxious to get my bike on the road. BTW, I had a beautiful red 83 GPZ1100 I foolishly sold back in the 90's.
