kz650 rebuild for school was created by KraZy650
Hello,

Im a sophmore in high school (16 years old) and is wanting to rebuild my kz650 that i just bought the other day. Its a 1980 Kz650 that i will have to completly strip down. I want it to look like the 80's superbikes (the kz1000's). I want it to be clean and simple. IF anyone could help with how to clean up a rear fender or where to get a yosh exahast and i really like the spoke rims that some of the kz's came with and wanted to know if i could still get thoughs somewhere. This is my first ever bike build and i cant wait to get started.

Thanks

wire wheels=coooooooooooooooool!:P might take some swapping of spacers from another model but many rearly 650s had wire wheels,if you want a disc brake wire wheel for rear ya might try an early 750 or 1000 wheel and swingarm with brake caliper and and swingarm so it will be easier swap than guessing on wheel spacers and brake parts.;) goodluck, happy wrenching!

Welcome.

Wire wheels from another Kz may fit, like from a 650 CSR or a 750 of similar vintage ('80 and on).

Give us some pix of the rebuild. B)
