Yes,Yes another newbee here. well... i dug my 78 kz1000 police outa the junk on its way to being scrap...no tank,bars,wiring,seat...just a frame and motor,,some wheels. everything very rusty. motor was stuck,carbs stuck..me and a buddy dragged it from the bed of his pick-up because it wouldnt roll anymore.
i pulled the plugs and filled the cyls with brake fluid and let her sit for a couple a weeks and began the freeing up process.....and wal-la one year later the darn thing runs. homemade hydraulic clutch,brackets mounts. cut the frame and added my own touches. retro fitted the electrical system from three different bikes. rectifier,from this,regulator from that...so on.
this is on really tough machine. it laid for over 8 years and had been nearly picked clean by the vultures. but it still runs. when i was young these bikes were
infamous. i now know why. i will now begin the process of going through the motor. i am hooked.
