BTW, please list where you live and your bike(s) in your sig line. There are members here from all over the world, and there may be one near you that might be able to assist you with something if you should ever need help.
Take care and ride safe

Your local dealer must be cool to tell you about this site, now you won't need him so much.

I live in Platte City, Missouri, approx 12 miles North of KCI Airport.
I am having a charging problem on my KZ1000. Independence Kawasaki (Independence, Missouri) is telling me that you cannot purchase a stater anymore for this motorcycle. Anyone have any ideas????
Also, according to my insurance company, they will not insure my motorcycle when it turns 30 years. Anybody have any recommendations of insurance companies that will reasonably insure it???
Also wanted to let everybody know that one of our local motorcycle salvages has a KZ1300 (I believe it is a 1983 model) that looks to be in fine shape and it runs for sale for $2000.
Thanks again to everyone for the fine welcome.

Welcome to KZR. You have one of those bikes that I still lust after. You can still purchase electronic for your bike (despite what you were told). Go to www.denniskirk.com they have both regulator/rectifiers and stators listed for the E2 model. You can also purchase insurance for your bike, but it just isn't cost effective as most companies will only pay out 'blue book' which isn't the same as street value on these old bikes. Phrased another way, hypothetically, you might pay $400/year for full coverage yet the company will only pay $200 if you total your bike. Despite that, you can still get 'liability only' and eat the bike if you wreck it.:)
