Just another new guy that needs help. was created by jman53718
Hello everyone. My name is jason and I live in Madison, WI. I have a 83' KZ750L Sport that I am either looking to fix up or sell. I have been looking for parts but am having a lot of trouble fiding parts for this bike.
I thought this forum would be a great place to ask for some help. If anyone knows of a place that a guy can find parts for this bike it would be a huge help. Thanks for the help in advance and I hope to chat with some of you soon.

Welcome to the board.
First place I check for parts is Z1 Enterprises
www.z1enterprises.com
Jeff Saunders is the owner, and he's a member of this site.
The site is set up so you can drill down to your specific model bike, and see the parts that are available.

Welcome to the forum. I saw your zip in the username and thought it looked nearby. Your post confirmed it! Your best/cheapest source for parts is probably ebay. You've got a rare bike, though, so it make be a little difficult finding bodywork.
We've got a bike salvage yard in town, Suter's. www.sutersspeedshop.com/
They've got a good selection, and I've gotten some good deals on misc. smaller parts. However, I've heard when you start trying to buy wheels, swingarms, tanks and whatnot, it gets pricey.
Throw some pictures up so we can see how it looks. Members may even be able to help you out with some of the parts you need, and we can definitely help you with any technical details you're looking for.
If you see a ratty old KZ1000 along east Gorham, thats me.
Have fun!

Welcome.
Ask away in the Classifieds/wanted section as another member here may have what your looking for.
Also ebay can be a good source for parts.

jman!
While we don't know what parts you are looking for, you may not be aware that you can cross 'boundaries' while shopping on eBay. Your bike (L3 model) shares many parts with the 1982 Kz750R1 (GPz) and the 1984 Kz700A1. Many times parts are listed on eBay by a single model and not crosslisted with compatible models. If you weren't aware of this, don't give up on eBay yet!

You might keep in mind jman that you are not always restricted to your one specific model year for parts. Many of us have part number cross referencing software. The carbs, piston rings, whatever, for your bike might be used in many other year/models, thus increasing your chance for new or used parts. It's often not as bad as it initialy appears to get parts for these old rippers.

Yours is a rare bike, with not many sold in the US during its production. I like the style, especially if you have the original bodywork and paint scheme. Please post pictures!
Keep looking on eBay. Just because you do not find your parts today doesn't mean you will not find them tommorrow, next week, or next month. I picked up a KZ750L tank, near new condition, for a song many months back, and was the only bidder. An old dealer had it on his shelf, and just wanted to get rid of it, so it was sold without reserve. Sometimes lucky is better than smart.

Welcome aboard, Jason.
The biggest asset you have is patience. Just when you think that last part will never show, you snag it on eBay for a bit more than you should and then the next week 3 more show up on eBay.
