a pic for those interested ive done some mods change
colour to purple again ,had great fun balancing the
amal carbs from a triumph or norton and the bike runs
rich at tickover because of straight thru pipes and
also swopped over to slightly longer threaded plugs
as the standards fouled .
here in portugal parts are difficult to find and when
the twin lead coil stopped working i fitted a coil
from my sons vw 74 van with two leads plugged in
worked fine so i also gave it vw condenser!picked up
a cloned chrome harley coil at faro 2005 bike show
which looked cooler but i finally put on a after
market coil from m&p in the united kingdom.
the bike has a bates headlight with oil neutral and
high beam indicator but the tiny bulb was a bit dim
for unlight roads here so i slipped in a car bulb
which throws more light but i lose my backlights to
the speedo and rev counter on high beam
i used gunson colour tune to get each cylinder a good
even blue at tick over but as the pipes pass close
to the left hand velocity stack i think the left carb
benefits from some warmer air.
