Hi,
So my boss askes me to help him with this used bike he bought. Why me? 'cause I work on his Mk II Jag, and all engines are the same... arn't they? It started as a carb cleanout (bowls were LOADED with dried silt) got bowls and jets cleaned, progressed to Very hard starting when cold, on to low compression (80 psi in all cyls). So I bought it. Bought another engine out of Kansas. Got the new engine bolted in Christmas day. Fired it up on Tuesday, Rode it to work and back today.
Yup, it was chilly, and the 60 mph wind gusts didn't help anything.
But she runs well, I do need to go through the carbs, have leaking gaskets, and need to check jetting, need to jet for Denver.
Hope I haven't run on too much.
I'm glad I stumbled across this site, it looks to be quite helpful with lots of info.
Thanks,
Geoff H.

I really want to do some riding in Denver. Until you hit the foothills it's pretty short on the twisties, but it's such a beautiful place and the weather is usually amazing.

Welcome to KZR from another '78 KZ 650 rider/storer. Too cold to be riding here, but I will be tinkering with her over the Winter.
Have fun and ride safely.
