Hello everyone!! was created by z1rtc4me
Hello I am in the process of restoring a 1978 Z1RTC. The bike is complete and running. It is black with the moly graphics. It has 8056 miles. This bike is a beast. I have all the oringinal paperwork and bill of sale(which is cool). I'm looking for anyone who has any kind of parts or information on this beauty. I have always wanted one and now I have one. On a scale of 1-10 this one is about a strong 8. Right know I have the bike down to the bare frame getting ready for powdercoating. Now I am working up a pile to go to the chrome shop. I am in search of the factory ATP boost gauge. The one I have has a cracked lens which sucks. Also does anyone know what the factory carb is . There is a zeinth on it. I'm not sure if it is the proper one.

I beleive the original carb on the bike was a Zenith, although many people switch to a different one (Mikuni?) which apparently makes the bike much more rideable.
I will third the pics idea, also.

Welcome Z1rtc.
Very cool bike.
I bet that "beast" makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck; just looking at it gives me a chubby.
Be sure and keep before/during/after pics if possible.

Sweet. Nice pics. There's rumors of one here in town that's been squirreled away for 20 years or so.. I've been trying to find details for a few while but no go.
Keep us updated.

Did you pick this bike up from an eBay auction? This bike seems to ring a bell with me.

Z1RTC4me, I would give it at least 9 out of 10, just on looks.
There is a photo in Marsden's book "Original Kawasaki".
He says; "Kawasaki collaborated with the American Turbo-Pac company to create the limited edition Z1RTC. This was a basic standard Z1000-D1 fitted with a turbo-charger system and the result was the ultimate quarter-mile animal. ..... produced 105 to 145bhp depending on how much boost pressure the owner dialled in."
From the look of the Marsden's photo he has a Zenith carb fitted (as Johnno suggests is standard) same as yours! A great collectors item.
