Hey everyone, my name's Tyler. Just picked up a 1979 KZ650 B3 from a neighbor of mine. Bike has been sitting in a shed since 1995. I started pulling it apart yesterday, got the rims and tires off, all plastic, gas tank, petcock, carbs, ect.

Put on new clutch and throttle cables, and new tires.

Ordered new spark plugs, oil, carb kits, oil filter, oil, grips, battery, ect. Hoping to get it going in the next few weeks, I will post pics when she is up and running.

I was just wondering, does the clutch need to be in to start the bike? I had one of the plugs out and pushed the kickstarter a few times to check for spark and got none but did not have the clutch pulled in. Does that matter?

Finally, this is my 10th bike, I have been riding for about 15 years or so. I currently have a 2001 yamaha R1 track bike and a 2002 Honda cbr954rr street bike.

Looking foward to hanging out here
