U did make a good point though, A modern bike, is, well, modern! But a classic is just that! My goal is to take my bike and make people say, what the hell is that bad ass bike! And to tell them its a 1978 will give me a great gratification when they say, NO WAY! Its a customizing thing! And we all love to make our bikes just that..OURS!

yep.im doing mine just because i like old bikes,if i wanna take corners at 150 ill buy a zx-14:P hey wait a sec buying a zx-14 would probably be cheaper than my z1 project, but it would look just like every other plastic bike rolling off the production line!na ,ill just stick with the old wet noodle bikes.:evil:I think it's important to remember that these are OLD bikes. Sure there'll be modest "performance" improvements with a mod like this, but without LOTS of other changes (i.e. frame bracing, heavy duty engine mounts, modern suspension components), it's still gonna be a wet noodle at speed. If you're doin' it for the fun and challenge, great, if not...get a late-model sportbike!

your right, it will take alot to make these old z650 anywhere near a modern sport tuner.
i'm in it for the pimp factor, just to be different from the next kz next to me & i love doing stuff like this.

Any particular year on the gixxer front end that works best? Still months away from the front end conversion but I want to keep my eye out for a deal!
