AND GRANDPA'S DAY 

For the past 5 years, my youngest son and I have always reserved a few hours for a decent ride together on Father's Day, me on my KZ, him on his R6. This year, at 21, he's left the nest and is working building windmills on the prairies. Today, more than ever, I miss him dearly! Never miss a chance to give your Dad or kid a hug!

I spent Father's Day with my dad getting his old 1963 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan fired for the first time since 1983. Dad engine swapped it in the 70's for a 406. 

It went surprisingly easy. I had been adding Marvel Mystery Oil down the spark plug holes for the last couple weeks. 

After re-installing the starter (pulled to see if it would work on a pivot pump, probably) and installing new plugs, we bottle fed the carb some 2-stroke gas and she fired right up. Idles like it was parked 38 hours ago, not 38 years. 

It was great to be able to work on something with my dad on Father's Day. We used to work together for a few years after I hired him, but I had to move on.
