Okay, the cafe fighter thingamajig is getting closer and closer. It's 80% to a rolling chassis and you know what that means.... piwdercoating the frame is coming up!

I need opinions people!

The frame and wheels are getting powdercoated, possibly anything else that catches my fancy.

Keep in mind that the block and valve cover will be painted too, so gimme ideas of what to do with that!

I was personally thinking a matte black tank and matte black block/valve cover, polished engine covers and rearsets, a bright red powdercoated frame (one of the reds below) and either silver metallic or matte black wheels. The matte black wheels would get a polised lip though.

So there's my idea for you to envisage.

Lemme hear your opinions people. Yours count more than anyone elses as you are fellow KZ peeps. :)

Thats the bike. Don't laugh too hard at the phone books. :P I gotta mock up to get an idea of position. This thing will be fun.

Here's the colors:

A:

B:

C:

D:

Run with it. Get crazy with it. :D

I would polish the valve covers, and carb top covers, and float bowls to offset the tank from the black block, and carbs (also painted black, but polished would be okay, too.) I like the black wheel with polished edge, but I'm partial to that. When I painted my bike all black, I saw the need for the poilished parts to be clean and shiney to offset all that black. Today was my first real good ride afterall the mods, and i got to se the bike in the store windows, and sitting in parking lots as I walked out of stores. The contrast really paid off in making the bike stunning, as a whole package. You have the red frame to help with that, so your polished parts will be like highlights, to showcase the mechanical parts. I like the color choices.
I've been following your progress...really interested in this project.
I like the exposed rear tire when people do it. Especailly with a cropped front fender.

My $.02:

Nickle plated frame.
Chromed tank.
Polish and clearcoat all aluminum.

That's just me, though...

I don't know about the red man, but I really like the metallic silver/matte black combo for your bike. I would paint the frame metallic silver and do the wheels matte black with a polished edge as suggested.
If it is going to be red, I like A better than B, on my monitor with my color settings;) Hard to tell off a screen...

If it were my bike.. id do the front fender/tank/tail satin black. Do a 2 color job on the wheels blood red and a smoke chrome (see colors) engine all satin black keep the head bolts chrome, do the valve cover and carb bodies red.

did i mention i have a PC'ing biz?... (shameless plug)

Dear Sir,
Please reply with some info on where a person could get that smoke chrome powdercoat. haha

I like that times 1 million as a color for the frame to be powdercoated possibly.

Thanks!!!!

My two cents..
I prefer a black frame. I like to see the color in the body work, and the frame should be as invisible as possible.
Black body and black frame looks good to me IF some chrome/polished alum is there to break up the black. Polished aluminum is better than chrome, in my opinion, because it reflects the effort that went into work.
