The factory stripes were decals and they weren't perfect. They also had areas where they overlapped. If you want a factory correct restoration I would do the decals / stripes.
If you want it to look better than the factory did them I would have the stripes painted on.

I had a pinstriping artist do my stripes, and I couldn't be happier. Watching one of those guys work is a treat, and the result looks 100% better than decal tape.

Is this thing working? Is this thing on?
