Hello I am repainting my bike and would like thoughts on decals or paint for the strips. What would be the preference and why. thanks

The factory stripes were decals and they weren't perfect. They also had areas where they overlapped. If you want a factory correct restoration I would do the decals / stripes.
If you want it to look better than the factory did them I would have the stripes painted on.

i have a 78 kz1000A in luminous red with the gold stipes, i like it as original in all the color options, Black looks best to me with the original gold stripes IMO.

I had a pinstriping artist do my stripes, and I couldn't be happier. Watching one of those guys work is a treat, and the result looks 100% better than decal tape.

Is this thing working? Is this thing on?

I got a set from diablocycle and they were easy to install and look great.
