I have a 76 kz900ltd that I would like to have repainted to original. The tank has a small dent that looks like it was caused by a loose turn signal as well as a line of rust thats developing. Wondering if any one has any feedback as to who is best qualified. I'm thinking about American Classix www.americanclassix.com/home.html .

Another member here had their bike restored through Klasmo (in Germany) who uses American Classix as a middle man...They apparently have some kind of arrangement that isn't as much of a hassle as it would be if YOU were to send your stuff to Klasmo directly. At any rate the paint job on this person's bike looks awesome!

Lots of guys have good luck with local painters. If you have the original paint still on the body parts, then they can match the stripes that were original. If you want to go with the original Classic Red Lacquer paint, I think that Color-Rite in PA still makes it (www.color-rite.com/).
My tank had some small dents, they just used bondo filler during prep.
I alway like to see a 900LTD restored. Not many of them around anymore.

Wow, Klasmo Klasmo has awesome site. I don't think that I'll try to send my paint work directly to them, but they have a lot of parts and other misc stuff. I'm going to order a couple of little things to check them out. Thanks for pointing them out.

If you live on the west cost I could match it for you. I've painted a few members bikes.

Send John68 a PM -- he can match the paint, and he'll give an estimate from digical camera photos.
