I was out yesterday.  At 5000 rpm I was doing 114 kph, measured with a GPS.  But I gave bad numbers for my sprockets.  I currently am using 16 & 35.  (I had forgotten when I rebuilt the bike I used a Z1 sprocket to save a bit of money.)  The bike has 630 chain.

That's 70.83632 MPH. I have a 15/35 and am doing that. Are you using the tranny you were talking about a while ago?

Just to chime in, I went out today for a bit on my '77.  At 60 MPH in 5th gear the tach is showing 4100 RPM.  At 70 MPH in 5th gear it is showing 4600 RPM.  I'm running pretty close to stock tires with 15/34 sprockets and 630 chain with a clip link master no less, but wired.  I like staying below 5 grand for cruising speeds.

Rick you have an 18” spoke rear on your “A” model correct?

Just read this thread, i am running a 16 wheel for one year, first with 15/35 but in my opinion to high revs on the highway. Now running 33 sprocket and perhaps change it to 32 teeth.Machine still accelerates fast (1015cc with vm 29 smoothbores)

It looks like an OE Kawasaki wheel.  Does/did it have bead locks?

Could it be from a kz650-C?  I think the 650 used a smaller drum than the 900/1000.  What's the diameter of the drum?

The 2.15" width is the same as my '78 Z1R, so it should fit the stock size 900/1000 tire.

The KZ650-C models used disk brakes front and rear.  Ed
