Hi Guys,
My bike (KZ1000st) is in a garage about a half hour away from here... I was talking to my buddy that has a powder coat shop and for the life of me I can't remember if the factory finish is anodizing or paint. Can anyone tell me for sure what it is?

I'm trying to schedule a time for him to do the powder coating but if they have paint on them, I need to have them media blasted first.

Thanks! :)

The black part is paint, I'm not sure if the shinny part has any coating.

Thanks for the quick replies... I just realized that I prolly posted this in the wrong section... should be in paint and bodywork...

It seem like I remember TWT talking about destroying a mag wheel with stripper... anyone have experience taking the paint off?

Thanks again! :)

You could mask off the inner flange (where the bead seals) and the exposed part of the hub and have it bead blasted - your friend with the PC shop should be able to set you up...

Yea, he's doing a freebie PC job for me so I'm trying to do as much of the prep work as I can do before he gets the rims... Thanks for the tips though... this points me in the right direction.

You might want to invest in some new bearings while your at it. They always get sand in them so you will more than likely have to replace them anyway.
