On the 1977 kz1000 LTD, the rear brake caliper locked up this weekend, got the disc kind of warm, the question is, since I am going to have to get into the caliper do I have to remove the rear wheel to fix this problem or can I split the claiper rebuild it and reinstall, bleed and be ok??
thanks

Hi, I have the same bike. That is a one piece caliper. I think it would be very difficult to get the caliper off the holder and even harder to get it back on especially if you put in new pads. I'm not saying it's impossible to do just that I never was able to. I always loosened the rear wheel axle and pulled it out just enough to take the caliper and holder out together. Hope this helps
