Hi, my 650 has a single rotor on the front wire wheel (19 inch), can I just bolt another rotor on the other side to get duals or is there something I'm forgetting? are the rotors for opposing sides different? thanks
pics to follow if needed

try and find a matched set of rotors dual disc bikes have thinner rotors or find another thick one to match yours.if you can find a caliper off a 77 bike with a single disc you should be able to use everything if your is behind fork on your bike you can take the 77 front mount caliper and put it behind fork on right side. goodluck, happy wrenching!

I think it should be a straight bolt on. Remember to increase the reservoir for the extra capacity.

Just went out and got some pics. Would it matter if the rotors were different thicknesses? How much of a difference is there? I measured my rotor, it looked like 6mm thick. My caliper is in front of the forks, how much work is it to change it to the back? switch forks in trees?... then is there fender issues? (I read in a link on here somewhere awhile back that the bike will be more stable with the calipers mounted behind the forks)

ive allways done it for cosmetic reasons.ok if yours is allready in front youll need a caliper off a bike behind the forks off left side.we used to cut the caliper mounts off and weld them on backside, but have since been told you can just swap the legs from one side to the other just make sure to keep the caps on the right legs. goodluck, happy wrenching!

Actually I was planning on using different calipers.... should have mentioned that I guess, they are from a 92 ZX600, saw them on ebay without a reserve and got em for $1 :woohoo: (plus shipping of course)(just won them other night, dont have them yet) I'm guessing I'll be making some custom brackets to get them to work.
