had a set of forklegs in corner from 1327 bike that were polished before i got them but they were dull,so i decided to polish them by hand with some mothers polish .the more i polished them, the more i wanted t toss them in the trash ! :S whoever stripped and polished them origionally must have used a dremel the more i rubbed on them the more waves i could see! so i spent the rest of the day tearing the forks apart and block sanding one of them to remove most of the waves out,i also removed that fender brace bracket on the bottem of forkleg and filed it down like it wasnt there!;) tomorrow ill start on the other leg:S !i remember there was a post about polishing forklegs and parts with a dremel,be real carefull doing that or you willend up with lots of waves in parts! goodluck, happy wrenching
