New to the site- looks like a great place- I have a 1993 KZ1000P (Cop Bike) I wanted to know what other taller seats would fit. I am 6'5'' and a bit tall for the way it it set up right now. I'm not sure if it can be done but I would also like to ditch the floor boards for some pegs and normal shifter.... What other mods have some of you done to the "Cop bikes"? Thanks-

TR

Welcome to the asylum!

There are more than a few of us with cop bikes and honestly I think there are more modified than not. I mean, seriously modified. I think the master would have to be Sandracer. Heres some links to the old forum that have a total history of his bike's transformation. Its a must see for any police bike owner.

I've done some work to mine, bad cop no donut has worked his out. There are more on here, you'll just have to poke around.
As far as your seat issue goes, its usually the reverse, people looking to lower. The stock shocks are 14 so you can't really get any higher. The floor boards have metal under them so any mods would probably be permanent and would include cutting metal if you wanted to add a lowered shifter. You may consider stuffing the seat, i.e. gel pad, or finding someone who can make a new one from the original pan. Whatever you do, put up pictures and let us know, theres bound to be someone else coming around with the same issue. Good luck!!
