I was buying parts for some routine maintenance on my GPz. The service manual shows my bike as taking B8RES.

I ordered some and went to put them on when I noticed the spark plugs in there were B8ES - no R, which I believe means resistor-type.

Previous owner installed ACCEL yellow coils and yellow spark plug wires. I am ingnorant of aftermarket coils. Does this mean I shouldn't use R type plugs? I can return my B8RES to Dennis Kirk and get the right ones.

Oh, also does this mean my gap should be different?

Since this is just a coil, I don't know if the gap changes.

Accel calls for the gap to be .035". The Accel wires are suppression so you don't need resistor plugs. I'm not sure the resistor plugs will hurt, but if you haven't installed them, DK might take them back (call them, sometimes they are finicky with electrical stuff about returns).
