does anyone have a wiring diag for how to wire up a relay ie what pins are power /load and gnd/and excite terminal i am having to build my own wiring harness and i am going to wire back to factory plus a protection relay in the main power circuit

most relays have the diagram on the side of it, if you post a pic of the relay i could give you an idea of what to do

the ones i have seen have no diag just numbers on the side where the wires plug up

well then if you don't have a diagram you'll need to pull the cover off of the relay and see where the tangs go to, inside you'll see a energizing coil one tang to each side these would be power and ground the other two are the switched circuit. unless you have a five wire relay then i would suggest you go to the local parts store and get yourself a 4 wire relay.

The person who did that drawing should have put yellow/red for the coil wires and subsequently, the "excite" wire. I always call that a trigger wire the the term "EXCITE" sounds soooooo much more... well exciting!
