Have searched much and have picked up alot but still need help.

Have a 78 650b2 with 29mm smoothbores (no pods, open carbs), V and H 4 into 1, dyna S and coils, Barrnett, tuned 4 deg advanced, syned well, 145 to 150 comp and am at 700 ft above sea level.

They are the a7 carbs with 17.5 pilots, 04 nettles in the 5th clip and have been running 120 mains.

Starts and idles great, exc low and mid range and seems to have a good strong top end but from what I've been reading I'm thinking I'm a little rich on the mains. Tryed reading plugs from 115s, 120s and 125s and seems like I'm getting a nice tan color on all. Even tryed 130s and 135s trying to get it to stutter but chould'nt.

Wrote Z1 a week ago to ask as I need a few things but have'nt heard back yet.

Got any recommendations on the mains? Would help me out. Thanks.

PS I know I'm gonna get ripped on the open carbs but have ran them for 23 years and 25,000 miles. Comp now 150, 145, 145, and 150 with 29,000 miles only lost 5 lbs on the #2 cyl. (Checked every 2-3 years since 1980).

And By the way exc web site!!! Will be here often.
