The vacuum fuel petcock on my 1979 KZ650 is leaking badly. I am not sure I want to waste money rebuilding it so was wondering if there's a non-vacuum replacement option? I've scoured eBay and Z1/Mikes XS sites but not finding anything with the 44mm mounting hole spacing. I also don't want to spend a ton of money on a Pingel setup unless that's the only option. Thoughts/ideas/leads welcome!

I believe some of the Yamaha non-vacum taps have the 44mm spacing, others will confirm (this is a uk company but I guess there must be USA suppliers if the shippings too much)

Why not add a brass in-line shutoff?
I bought a brand new vacuum petcock for my zrx AND added a shutoff. Filling up an engine with gas once was enough for me.
The vacuum shutoff comes in handy for when I forget to use the in-line shutoff, which is often.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I would prefer to just replace the petcock with a non-vacuum item and be done with it. If I do end up repairing or replacing the vacuum operated one I would definitely add in an-line shut-off.

Vacuum petcocks.  I think the 82-83 KZ50-CSR bolt hole spacing is 44mm and I think the 82-2005 police bikes are 44m as well.
Kawasaki part numbers: 51023-1039. 51023-1375. I think the -1375 part supersedes the -1039.  (FYI: the 81 650-CSR is 34mm).

@Wookie58 that Mad Mopeds option looks like what I need. I'm just surprised it does not seem to be available from a US vendor.

That looks a lot like the new petcock for the 78' KL 250. I'll have to go measure it since it's not installed.

Who knew something like 44mm non-vac option would be so challenging! I recently bought replacement non-vac petcocks for my 77 XS650. The bolt centers on those are 42.5mm. So close but yet so far!
