Accelerator diaphragm install ? was created by kzdcw
Going to install a New accelerator diaphragm in my 28mm pumper carbs. It doesn't appear that the stock one is compromised but since I'm rebuilding these carbs., I thought maybe a new one would be better ?
Anyway the center of the diaphragm has a metal rod that is longer on one side. Which side goes which direction ?

For the pump diaphragm on the right, the end in the pic faces downward & the pump actuator arm pushes against it. The spring goes on the other side.

Yes. When you install it into the accel pump cover, it should be kind of obvious.
vacuum sensor note: on some models the vacuum sensor is disabled at the factory, so the vacuum sensor diaphragm isn't needed. on such models, there usually isn't a vac sensor cover & the triangular diaphragm can't be installed because the center hole isn't drilled.
