Is your bike running bad?
The best is to buy a manual and go from there. Some carbs tell you to turn them out for richer or leaner; you need to know this.
if you dont have access to a manual try this.

Warm up the bike real good. Then amke sure idle is et right. next pick a carb and work from one side to the other. turn the screw in or out until you reach the highest idle speed then readjust you idle . repeat this on each carb.
:woohoo: MAKE SURE you dont bottom the screw outor you will damgae the tapperd needle and seat$$$$$$$. and if you dont have any change in idle when adjusting you carb or carbs then they need work. you should see idle chang within 1/2 turns.
note. if the weather is warm where you live, put a fan next to the engine to keep it cool.

wiredgeorge was a bit scared to get involved in this. You don't turn pilot jets. Pilot jets are screwed in and are NOT adjustable.

I suppose this guy is talking about air screws up on the sides of the carburetors? If so, then the best answer is to warm bike, turn each 1.5 turns out from lightly seated and try and find the fastest idle for each of the carburetors, in turn. Then readjust idle speed. The exact position will vary depending on how dirty things are and what size pilot jets you have.

That is what I had originally thought too....but more than one person had told me otherwise. My manual made no mention either way. They are in tight so that's how they will stay.
