What size fuel line is a stock 1983 KZ650 CSR supposed to have?

The current set up is a real mess, and I can't determine how to determine TUBE,7.5X12.5X225 from buykawasaki.com's parts diagrams.

I want to get the stuff that I don't have to clamp on, any suggestions?

Not a definate answer, but it's usually 1/4 inch or 5/16 for the fuel lines.Don't quote Me,but I've noticed that one SOME bikes,if there's only 1 line going to the carbs,it's more than likely 5/16...2 lines might be the smaller size line(1/4).
I'm guessing 1/4 I.D. for Your bike...

Thanks for the response, Sandy
There is only one line going to my carbs
I can always just grab a length of both if no one else has any suggestions.
I don't have the bike on hand but need the line for some riding tom. So if anybody knows exactly it might just save my day!

Just bought some for my '78 650, which was 5/16" line. I really don't think that 1/4" would have fit the connector between the carbs, as the 5/16" took a little wiggling.

Only 1 line?...oh...well then I would THINK that it's going to be 5/16".
You COULD always(like You said)...take a piece with You,but cut off the end where it's been flared out from the fitting,to get an acurate measurement.

Well...DUHH...I just reread Your post and grabbed My digital calipers...opened them up to 7.5mm(I.D.of the fuel line)and measured that opening...LOL...it is 5/16 I.D.

I have two votes for 5/16" from top tier KZ dogs so thats more than enough for me.

Killer,

The specs you listed for the fuel line are: I.D., O.D., length. They are all listed in metric sizes. 7.5 mm Inside Diameter (nominal 5/15"), 12.5 Outside Diameter (nominal 1/2"), 225 (8 7/8").

7.5mm ID line is 5/16". 1/4" line WILL fit on the fuel inlet barb; just a tighter fit. I use 1/4" on my test bikes because I don't use clamps but would use 5/16" on a bike I was riding and wanted to put clamps on.

Hello to all
To covert Millimeters to Inches :
multiply the mm x .03937 Example 7.5mm = .29527 Inches.
12.5mm = .492125 Inches 225mm = 8.85825 Inches
Hope this helps... Don (tnt79z28)

ps, here's a link to a conversion table that gives just about any formula you would ever want and some you could care less about :-) :-)

Bah. Go to Google, type "5/16 inches in mm". Problem solved. If you need conversion numbers, just convert one unit: "1 inch in mm".

Have fun!
