Scotty, They are indeed float bowl vent tubes and must not be capped or pinched or the floats won't work. I would also point out that the black rubber hose immediately behind the clear hose on #2 carb is a vacuum hose intended for connection to your petcock. It actuates the petcock. If not used, it MUST be capped or makes a big air leak in that carb.

I just bought the bike and it didn't run too good, I thought they were just breathers but i wanted to ask anyway, the previous owner had 1 of the breathers on the petcock and the vacuum hose plugged. Thx for the info

650ed Offline User Posts: 15344 Thank you received: 2829	On my '77 KZ650C1 those 2 breather hoses are routed up, then under the air filter baffle plate, then down into the center of the top of the air filter. I'm the original owner of the bike, and this is how it came from the factory. Ed 1977 KZ650-C1 Original Owner - Stock (with additional invisible FIAMM horn)
