Hello there, I am in search of the rear stay/grab rail for the GPZ (35011-1083) or would also use the stay for the standard KZ550A (35011-1074).   I am also searching for the document holder for same (32099-1004).    Also, maybe a complete set of the OEM pipes as the bike currently has an era kerker 4/1. 

These seem difficult to find so I need to be more creative.  Is there a good source to cross reference the north american parts to the euro part numbering?  Also, does anybody have an familiarity with the OUS z400j/gp and that era of z400s?  Is this the same frame as the kz/gpz550 from 81?  If so, does anybody know where to find parts lookups for japanese variants?

The Z400-4 is probably similar to the ZR400 which is similar to the ZR550. See diagrams at Cmsnl.com. link below. 
There's a 83-85 Z400/500/550 FSM supplement floating around the internet.  Also the Z400J is covered by the earlier 79-83 400/500/550 FSM.  Lumping the Z400-4s w the 550s would tend to indicate that the models are very similar to each other.

Thanks for the response and the lead.  I tried cmsnl but it seems they only have bikes back to 84 in that series, anyway.  I have bought parts from web!ke a few times and they have stay which looks right and is way cheaper than the "out of stock" price that PartZilla shows. They are saying their bar cross references to:

• Z250FT
• Z400FX
• Z400J
• Z550FX.

The Z550FX should be the direct counterpart to the KZ550A/D. I think they confirmed inventory and updated my order as confirmed and they are planning on shipping it on the Nov 7th.  

Now, if I could only find the document case for under the rear tail cowl, I'd be almost 100% stock except for the Kerker 4/1.

I ride my D1 every day, and I need a  place to store spark plugs, puncture kit, small multimeter and a couple of bucks (for emergencies) so designed and 3D printed a "replica".

For the GPZ grab rail, I recommend creating a Ebay search for both P/Ns and then wait.

Salvage outfits know both parts are rare. Try Japan Ebay proxy service too.

Glad you found a solution. I find 3-D printing really interesting but haven't done anything about it yet.

Having said that, I found a doc box on ebay the other day... and bought it.

Here's the kicker: it was $15  ($26 with shipping)

However... the seller listed it with a description rather than by the part number. It resembles the pic on Partzilla but it's tough to tell if it's identical. Will know more when it arrives, I guess.
