Maybe he's hoping one of those rich Japanese will jump on it? I don't mean to break his dream, but with Yen to Dollar rate now days, I'm doubtful.
82' KZ750-R1 cafe racer style. Clip-on, Rear set, Fork-Brace, Mikuni Flat-slide (forgot the size), Kerker.
84' GPz750 (basket case). everything are in pieces.
89' ZX750-H1 (ZX-7 Ninja). Resurrection project are on going with my KZ750. Everything is stock.

I would be interested to know who the restorer is.  There are only a couple that I would consider paying that price for their work.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Will be interesting to watch.  Now that the Z1's 50th. anniversary will soon be in the recent past, curious to see if prices continue climb, stagnate or drop.

I think the one that went for $51,000 in Vegas last year set unjustifiable expectations. This one looks better than that one as it had a number of repop parts, didn't it? IIRC, even the exhaust was a repop. The complete restoration will be finished by the seller before it's shipped. Not sure my wife would believe this though: "TELL YOUR WIFE THAT THESE VERY RARE BIKES WILL ONLY APPRECIATE IN VALUE 10-15% PER YEAR."

I think he needs to stop patting himself on the back and learn how to restore a bike. Not that I know how, but I know what's wrong. The carburetors are wrong they are 74. The rear mudguard is LTD. Z1B speedometer. #7 bolts on the sprocket cover and battery box el wrongo. KZ1000 timing chain tensioner. Let me keep looking. Carb holders have allen bolts, hardware store front engine mount bolt nut and washer. Rear shocks look like shit. 74-75 petrol tank..This guy is a legend
