SO i have a possible source for a KZ750 engine. If it runs nice, will it fit in the 650? Or should I use some parts from it to modify my 650? WHat parts would I use if so? I dont know much about this area of the KZ's yet.

yes it will fit in the frame as the bottom ends are the same, and most parts will swap.

Might have to make some spacers or use washers, and you will either need the KZ750 regulator and do a bit of wiring, or swap over the 650 alternator onto the 750. Same dal with the ignition, either get the 750 ignitor and do a bit of wiring, or swap over the 650 points and advancer.
Pretty easy swap.

Thats crazy! ive just won a z750 engine on ebay (well, the winner backed out and the seller accepted my next best offer...100 english pounds) and thought id come on here to ask what to do with it and i find this post!!
So...
*will my z650 coils be good on the 750?

*can i swap my boyer bransden electronic ignition kit from the 650 to the 750?

*best carb choice? find some 750 carbs or use my 650 carbs (are they the same?) or look for something else...just what are "flat slide mikunis"???!!! and where would i find em?

*OTHER MODS? get the crank lightened/balanced for free-er revving? re-profiled cam?

cant wait to get this project of the ground now...

Yes the ignition on the 650's will bolt right on the 750's.

Coils will be fine if they were fine on the 650.

650 carbs will work, even though they are not the best, but you may have to use the 650 manifolds (carb holders).

Best mods are an 810 kit and shave the head, and fuel injection (here I go again :) )

83-85 GPz750 cams will give you more hp at the expense of low and midrange (but don't all high performance cams do that?).
