Well it has happened again. My head gasket was leaking so I took the head off and replaced. While carefully tightening down the valve cover a bolt broke. I never felt it break. Thank my lucky stars it broke about a 1/4”  above flange and came right out. 
My question is where can you get replacement bolts?  I really would like to replace them all as the old bolts seem to be prone to breaking. 

Partzilla and/or Rick Ayers are my "go-to" vendors of OEM parts. You might also find some at Z1E

Most of those bolts are listed as NLA. 
A local fastener company, or a trusted online vendor of quality hardware may be your only choices. I bet you could take the broken pieces to a Fastenal store and get what you need.

Partzilla might tell you the size of the bolt, even if it's NLA.

For example, 92002-1215 is listed as BOLT,HEX HEAD8x63

Also, please use a torque wrench

That sounds like good idea. I will look into  it. 

Be sure to match the grade of bolt to the application.

Head bolts should be at minimum, grade 10.9.  

Common stainless steel bolts are much weaker.

Is he not talking about "valve cover" bolts ?

On the 400/440, the valve cover houses the rocker arm and is a structural part of the engine assembly.  Its official name is Case-Rocker.

I know the bolt sizes. I also think I have the thread pitch for them. I  believe the smaller ones are 1.0 and the larger are 1.25. No idea what the grade is. 
And I do use the torque wrench. I gradually tighten them down until I hit the correct specification. My search continues.
