I don't remember a motorcycle on the label in the past.

Been using the T4 stuff for several years.
Would T6 be better for my J-model engine?

T6 is fully synthetic and you will get a bunch of arguments both ways. I have used a lot of it, and am a fan of synthetic engine oil in general.

Ido not remember seeing a motorcycle on the labels of any Rotella, but the label on the back has always said it meets JASO MA, which is the Japanese spec for wet clutch motorcycle oil.

How likely would making the change to T6 induce oil seepage past gaskets, o-rings, and seals (in an old J-engine) where little if any leakage is currently present?

Just gotta poke that bear, eh?
Fine, I’ll bite.

Synthetic oil is not sneakier than any other oil. If it is the same viscosity and essentially similar friction modifiers, it will leak the same as conventional oils.

T6 is 5W-40.  Compared to 15W-40 diesel oil, the 5W will be thinner when cold, and if you have a leak path, the thinner oil will exploit it more effectively.

T6 is also available in a 15w option if that is your preference.   Coincidently I have a jug with a tractor, truck and a semi -truck on the front.   Good stuff.  Priced right.  I run the 15w for the 3 riding seasons in the midwest USA.

I love to poke that bear

What about oil consumption?  Is there less tendency for T6 to evaporate as T4 may be when it gets whipped into a mist at high engine rpms?

Oops!  Maybe I should have looked at the first post in this thread?  Ha ha.  My bad.

T6 used to be 5W-40 only.  It's good to see that expanded.  To be honest, though, 5W-40 is, arguably, better oil.  It will flow through the engine more easily on a cold start, and protect just as well at high temp.
