ZX7/Z1 Oil Cooler

Started playing with it yesterday afternoon. It won't work up side down as I planned. Too big. The top bolt was no problem but the bottom ones I had to make a bracket for. I have some 6.37mm aluminum flat bar stock, so I used that. This stuff is HARD. I;ll have to go flexable lines to criss/cross under it, then behind the steering head, along the back bone tubes, then down between the 2-3 intake boots. 3/8 line all the way. I have a line connecting the inlets to keep out dirt for now. Looking for a 3/8 bypass valve. Should be ready for summer. B)
Looking at the pics, I need to do some polishing. :(

This is my old cooler. You can see why I didn't use it.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNow this would be ideal.

Still trying to catch my breath after seeing the price of that IMPROVED Racing thermostat.

Those "Mocal" thermostats have been around a while and I think, sold under more than one name. Price is MUCH better obviously.

You're right. Been looking at three way valves. That one for $37 is doable. Ed, do you know off hand what size fittings are on the cooler? I'd like to have larger inlets.

Those 3/8ths couplings are a little too small.
Remember KZ's are high volume - low pressure so 1/2 inch /13mm is the size you need or you will have trouble.
That bypass is intended for higher pressure systems.

Sorry Steve, I don't know the flare size. All I know is they are quite large.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI've got it worked out. The old cooler had 1/2" inlets. I have some fittings off a FI fuel pressure regulator that will fit. I can drill them out and fit 1/2" barbs on them. These are the fittings I plan on getting off eBay. I was thinking the same thing. 3/8" is too small.

The fittings I had before were for 1/2".
