Hello, I am trying to turn this 82 KZ 750 CSR Twin into something a little more, I put a 2 into 1 MAC setup on and want to put air filter pods on too, anyone ever done this to a twin or something similar, can you tell me all I should do?

If you mean upgrades to get more power, then it involves a lot of work since there are no aftermarket hotrod parts for the 750 twin, although you may be able to send the cams to someone to get them reground.

With 2 into 1 exhaust and pods you will probably have to rejet.

Easiest way to get more power is to buy an additional bike (750/900/1000/1100) :)

I thought that you could get 1 or 2mm over pistons for the twins...???
oh, and some porting would give it a bit more kick if done properly

thanks for all the info. the bike has 55hp stock what do you think it might have after pipes, filter pods, and a rejetting?

Properly tuned, maybe 57-58 hp :)

Just so you don't get the wrong idea about me, I have a 750 twin (see my avatar) and a garage full of 750 twin and four parts. And I "like" the 750 twins, but a hot bike they ain't :D

Yes, 1mm oversized pistons are available, pretty cheap on eBay too, that's why my 750 twin is apart in the garage right now.

You can also get an extra exhaust cam and cut the tach drive end off of it with a sawzall and install it in place of the intake, exhaust cam has more duration than the intake.

I read an article sometime ago about a guy that raced a 750 twin, he got it up to 90 hp before the bottom end started self destructing.

Oh yeah, there's always the Eaton supercharger off a 4 cylinder Mercedes, M20 or M25 I think :)

I've got the same bike and I'm just finishing my rebuild after painting the frame and tank. The only engine performance upgrades I've come across are the 2-1 exhaust and the pods. I originally wanted to try and turn mine into a cafe bike, but the frame is too cruiser specific. I've come to realize that unless I want to dump a bunch of dough, all I can hope for is a really nice clean commuter. You could always put a newer front end, swingarm, intrument cluster and racey seat on it. The problem is that it will only look fast. Maybe you could shoehorn a bigger engine into it. On the bright side, you'll be hard pressed to get a speeding ticket on the highway.

ps anybody got a wiring diagram for this bike? U2U me if you do. :silly:

I don't know about that, if you are caught running over a 100 mph around here then you will get a speeding ticket :D

KZ750 twin should be able to run 100-110 mph, if it don't then there is something wrong with it.
I think Kawasaki said 112 mph.
