1989 Ninja 1000, $1000 OBO

Seller sez,

'someone put a new clutch in...i sold it to a old boy on drugs...he took off outa here and the clutch blowed up...mtor runs real good...dark green paint...been knocked over a few times...'

'get of at hwy XXX...go two miles...you'll se a bunch of old cranes and other junk...that's the place'

I'm gonna go have a look tomorrow with $400 or so in my pocket.

My questions for anyone familiar with this bike are:

Are odds highly in my favor that only clutch pack is damaged?
OR
Should I take the cover off and have a look before making offer? Who knows, maybe the pusher just froze up

Do any other model clutch packs fit this bike? ZX10 was made 88, 89, 90.

Of course we'll let her warm up and then check for water in oil, oil in water, and other obvious stuff first.
