Went to the local bike boneyard yesterday. Depressing, but the guy's got lots of parts. Here's a few pix.

And yeah, kind of sad to see where good bikes eventually end up.

I have been to a few of those places and they always think there parts are worth the price of gold. There is one in town and they price their parts at 60% of new cost, regardless of condition. So if you go in to get a part that is $100 from Kaw and still in the package with a warrany this place will charge $60 for a used piece that is untested and not warrantied. Seems like an easy choice to me. Plus one of the guys that works there is a real jerk. He tried to tell me someone a used my bike as a drag bike because it has rim locks inside the rim. The tires were original, never been off the rim. I have been back a few times since but never bought anything from them.

At least there are donors to keep our machines on the road.

What is it with the "paint job" in that last pic?

I remember that place. What a mess. When the guy shut down the yard in Nampa he and a bunch of guys came in and cut up everything and threw it all in dumpsters.

Wonder if any of the alternators in there could be used to build windmills? Or at all? Just a thought, any ideas?

Oh yeah.. And for that purple paint job on that kz.. Went to AMI about 88 was a roomate with a guy named mark, from maine, that had a purple KZ1000. Wonder if that was his?

I have bought a bunch of parts over the years, sometimes they are a bit pricey, but then they dont make them anymore so its a decision, yes no maybe damnit bought in anyway
